Hope

 Happy New Year!


As we welcome this new year, we want to thank you for the support we received over 2022. Granted, your love and support have been ongoing for over a decade, and we will forever be grateful and indebted to you all. This past year has been challenging for us physically and emotionally as, for the first time in our lives, we were limited by what we could or couldn't do. Praise the Lord for carrying us through and accomplishing great things for His glory.

Even in the hardships, we reflect back and see the Lord at work. He has allowed us to be more dependent on others, slow down, and enjoy the moment. Granted, we still keep moving forward at a fast pace. We did many things well, and we did many things sub-par (for our standards), but we have seen His grace in it all. We don't know how everything will work out in 2023, but we will be ready and do our best for God's glory.

Here are a few numbers from 2022. This isn't a final tally through December, but it shows how our team and the Lord have attempted to do great things for the Lord's Name and glory.

Total # of Gospel Shares by imb and national partners (brothers and sisters in Christ)- 2584

Total # of People that heard a complete Gospel Presentation from both- 8176

New Believers- 278 (We have more from our national partners but not directly from our endeavors)

New Baptisms- 121 (Same as the above statement)

New Groups intending to become church 15


We praise the Lord for using us and others to do many great things. Some highlights of the past year.


Ministry Highlights:

  • Training churches in Evangelism and Discipleship
  • Working in new areas of town and seeing the Lord begin and continue to establish His work
  • Chaplaincy training and seeing the chaplains serve the Lord with joy.
  • Training up many M's and seeing them do amazing things
  • Walking alongside faithful brothers and sisters in Christ and seeing them get excited about what the Lord can do in their lives.
Family Highlights:
  • Baylee became a Senior in High School and chose UMHB as her future home for university.
  • Phoebe and Josh announced that they are expecting. It will be our first grandchild.
  • Emma and Collin are married and now living in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • We had a great time being on vacation in December.
  • River is doing very well in many areas, and we are proud of him.
Prayer Request:
  • Pray for us to stay grounded in the Lord as a family in 2023
  • Pray for every believer in Nairobi Baptist churches to be equipped to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the end of 2023.
  • Pray for continued physical health for Adam and Suzie.
  • Pray for what the Lord desires to do in our lives.
  • Pray for Baylee to finish High School well and to adjust to the USA.
  • Pray for baby Z, Phoebe, and Josh to be healthy and at peace as new parents.
  • Pray for Emma and Collin to settle into Fort Worth, do well in Seminary, and find good jobs.
  • Pray for the Lord to provide finances for team ministries, family needs and aid for those in need around us.

It's Time to Come Home

The Lord has prepared us and led us to make a significant change.  We're coming back to the USA!  Many things have helped us make this decision, but ultimately, the Lord is leading us, and we are just continuing to be faithful to Him. We haven't changed.  Our hearts remain steadfast.  The passion and desire for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done continue to grow within us.  However, we will now live this out on the front lines of the USA in Texas. We are excited to announce Adam will be the senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Valley Mills, Texas.  He will be officially starting at the end of June.  Suzie should be teaching at the elementary school in Valley Mills.  Baylee and River will finish the school year in Nairobi as we pack up the house and say our goodbyes well.  Baylee graduates high school on May 25th.  We will return to the USA in the first part of June to take a little time to decompress before beginning ministry in Valley Mills. Walking By Faith...through a Never-ending Storm

This past month has been difficult for us as a family.  Actually, this whole year has been tough. We have a need to heal physically but emotionally we just don't feel strong due to not being able to do all the required/wanted activities physically.  We are responsible for so much and we feel as if we are giving our all but it just isn't enough.  However, in our physical and emotional weakness the Lord is faithful. All this to say, what keeps us going is serving the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord's. Being actively involved in God's Kingdom work is where we find ourselves being strengthened and reminded that He is strong and Mighty no matter how we feel. Thus, when things break down, when we find ourselves weak physically, when we feel all alone and abandoned, He is there! The Lord is shining His grace and mercy on so many here in Nairobi and around all of Africa.  He has allowed us by His grace to be a part of it.  He is good and so today be encouraged that He can do

Short but Packed

February is a short month but we packed it full! (No surprise!!) Baylee kicked off the month in Olepolos, a village south of Nairobi, where she served a church and its community alongside some classmates. She was able to share the gospel, serve in the church, work on the church and love on the children and students in the village. Adam & Suzie got to tour Istanbul on a long layover headed to Athens where they spent time with others leading the strategy for their cities in other parts of the world. It was incredible to visit places with such rich histories and ancient landmarks, both in Istanbul and Athens. God is on the move around the world. He's the same yesterday, today and forever, which is mind-blowing, especially when your standing in front of an olympic stadium that was built in 330BC, and that's still not as old as creation.
