RUNNING

Hebrews 12:1–2 (ESV), says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."

Run with endurance the race that is set before us...

Some days are harder than others when it comes to running with endurance; or simply just running at all.  We've officially been back in Nairobi for five weeks and we're sprinting.  Each day is a surrender, trusting God is in control and seeing us through, as we run from one meeting to another.  We're seeking to find moments of retreat, moments focused on the family, and obviously, we would not make it another stride if we weren't finding time in the Word day-by-day!  He who has called us is faithful and he will see us through.  Please pray for us to be completely surrendered to him every step of the way!

In the book of James, he says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."  How true this has been for us over these past weeks.  Each day there has been another unexpected situation that we are faced with handling.  In each of these situations I have asked God earnestly for wisdom.  Each time he has given it to us.  HE IS FAITHFUL!

In the midst of the "fires", God continues to move in mighty ways all around us.  We've been getting out into our neighborhood a couple times a week.  We've been able to share the Gospel, pray with people, train small groups and we've seen a number of people commit their life to Christ.  Please continue to pray for more opportunities to share, for the hearts of those we're sharing with to be open to the Lord and for discipleship and training to take place in a timely manner.  Pray also for the local brothers and sisters sharing more often in the neighborhood to be diligent and sensitive to the Spirit as they go.

Praises:

*Baylee & River have had a great start to a new school year at Rosslyn.

*Places are more open since COVID restrictions have lessoned.  Most people are following protocols to stay safe and healthy and we're able to move about town easily.

*We've had a number of meetings that are leading to better unity in strategy and implementing best practices to the God's Kingdom advance in Nairobi, throughout Africa and to the ends of the earth.

Prayer Requests:

*COVID is still very real.  A number of our colleagues and friends/friends of friends have been suffering.  Let's continue to pray together for a decrease and ultimately complete removal of the pandemic.

*Pray for us as we continue to lead out among our Nairobi City Team, our "new to Sub-Saharan Africa" teammates and their mentors as well as carrying the baton for the Culture and Language Specialist role.  We want to work with excellence and being stretched thin causes that level of work to decrease sometimes.

*As mentioned in the text of our update, pray for our local brothers and sisters in Christ who are hard at work in the fields.

Family worship times are hands-on illustrations each week.  MAKING SLIME
First day of school 2021-2022- both kids are going to Rosslyn Academy here in Nairobi.
Praise God for opportunity to be a part of baptism. These guys are here setting up.
We celebrated 23 years of marriage by getting away for a night!
We love connecting and getting to know local pastors and leaders better.  We were especially thankful for this opportunity to be at Community Baptist Church this month.
