“If Ever I Loved Thee, My Jesus ‘tis Now”
So yesterday in church we sang the hymn “My Jesus I Love Thee” by William R. Featherton and it was such a sweet reminder of our dependence on our Lord Jesus Christ. We were struck by the last phrase that stated, “if ever I loved thee, my Jesus ‘tis now”. We were reminded that God loves us so completely and he loves without favoritism. He never changes. In the midst of thinking of His great love for us, our hearts just cried out to him in love and adoration. It took our concerns and issues we have and made them insignificant. We were able to just remember how much we love Jesus.
Life here in Nairobi is happening at a fast pace and it seems that days are flying by. We are making inlets into the language and culture but have so much more to learn. We have enjoyed seeing people hear the story of Jesus Christ with new eyes and we are really excited about seeing fellow Kenyan brothers and sisters in Christ get excited about God’s Word and living for him. We have seen so many step-out and share their faith with boldness. We always find that the more we can be involved in living out the missionary task the more at peace we feel. We are committed to keep pushing forward.
We remember that because we love God, we will worship him, pray to him, study His Word and share with others. God’s love, grace, mercy and His goodness drive us to keep pushing forward. We still have questions and many needs, but one thing has stood out this past month and that is how good our God is. Therefore, as we approach the next days, weeks and months please remember God’s love for you and in turn how much you love the Lord. Let’s all make much of Jesus this month.
