THANKFUL

We’ve been given even more to be thankful for in November!

Backpacks

Thanks to BGR (Baptist Global Relief) funds, we were able to assemble and distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with various school supplies to churches in the Androy and Anosy regions.

Leader’s Meeting

It has been a struggle to get around and specifically out to the bush due to the deteriorating condition of our vehicle.  Wear and tear has taken its toll on the Cruiser.  As most of you that follow us on Facebook know, the car has been in the shop at least weekly and is still not reliable enough to get very far out into the bush (country-side).  A new-to-us vehicle is being outfitted in Tana and should be ready in early January, but Adam was able to make one trip to Ambovombe to meet with our first- generation leaders from the Androy and Anosy regions.  Twenty men gathered to discuss strategy, issues they are facing as they lead their flocks and make disciple making disciples and simply fellowship and encourage one another.  Continue to pray for these men as they seek the Lord.  They desire to serve him with all they are and all they do, but some have fallen away.  Pray these men will be strengthened.  Pray they will stand firm in their faith holding one another accountable and encouraging one another as they continue the work.

Thanksgiving and BAYLEE’s HOMECOMING

Celebrating holidays can be difficult when we are so far from extended family, but God’s grace allows us to gather with other expats and enjoy these special days.  This year we were able to get 40 people together for Thanksgiving.  Nine peace corps volunteers, 3 families- each with an American spouse, our two IMB families here now, a few Malagasy friends, a Canadian family we work with and fellow believers from South Africa.  It was a wonderful day filled with food, fellowship and a time of sharing what we’re thankful for and all God has created that draws our thanks to his creation.  And if that wasn’t enough, Baylee made it home just before the gathering for her month of vacation from boarding school.  We hadn’t seen her in three months.

Praises:

*The backpacks blessed many students in need and allowed them to see God’s love

*Adam made it to the bush

*Anosy and Androy leaders were encouraged at their meeting

*Baylee is home

*We were able to facetime with our family back in the States over Thanksgiving as see more extended family.

Prayer Requests:

*Good health

*The car to be in good enough condition to get us around.

*Adam is deep in the bush this week- in a rental car (Dec. 2-6). Pray the trip is fruitful and the believers are encouraged.

*Upcoming meeting among Anosy leaders (Dec. 13-15)

*The Christmas season to provide many opportunities to share more about Christ and time to rest and relax as a family.
