Savoring Stateside

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28

We're six weeks into our 2nd stateside assignment.  We came in this time weary and burdened.  The culture of the Malagasy and their constant requests for help was wearing on us more than normal. Don't get me wrong, the Lord is moving in amazing ways.  Our brothers and sisters in Christ are proclaiming Christ clearly and often.  They are consistent in going out to share and disciple new brothers and sisters in Christ.  They are even walking 15 miles away to these villages!  We are continually getting reports of new areas that are seeking the Gospel and villages that have committed to being Church.  But we, personally, needed a change of pace; a time to refuel, reflect and remember all the Lord has done, is doing and still desires to do.

Though the schedule has not slowed down much, we got Emma settled in at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. She is doing very well.  We had a change of plans with Baylee and River and ended up putting them in the local public schools.  Baylee is in 8th grade at Rosemont Middle School and River is doing PreK at Seminary Hills Park Elementary.  They are both adjusting very well.  Baylee is playing volleyball and really likes her teachers!  Phoebe sent a message from Texas A&M, after her first day of classes.  After going pretty much none-stop from 6am-8pm, she reported that it had been a good, but busy day!  Please pray for her as she juggles 16 hours of classes, including Organic Chemistry, and at least 15 hours of work!

We especially wanted to send our schedule of speaking engagements.  If you can make it to any of the following locations, we would love to catch up with you!!

PRAISES:

*The kids, Adam and Suzie are all settled in school.  (Yes!  Adam and Suzie are taking a few classes too!)

*The work continues in Madagascar!

*We've been able to travel and see many friends and family members already.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

*For our Malagasy brothers and sisters AND co-workers continuing the work in Madagascar.

-Pray for our church in Fort Dauphin as they have had continual struggles with erosion and structural damage to the building since it was erected.  Then last month they were told the retaining wall was built on the neighbor's property.

-Pray for the famine that continues in South Madagascar.

*Pray for our families' studies and ability to balance each of our schedules well and for His glory!

*Pray as we share about the work in Madagascar that it will be clear, encouraging and spur the Church on to seek and serve God wherever He leads!
