Putting Christ in our daily lives with Thanksgiving

We have had a weird month of November.  For the first time ever our family has been separated in three different countries and for a longer time apart from each other than ever before.  Needless to say that brings with it some tension, excitement, sickness, and loneliness.  As many of you already know Suzie is in South Africa waiting for Baby #4 to come out and join the world on the outside of the belly.  Phoebe has been in Kenya finishing up her first trimester of boarding school.  Adam has stayed behind in Madagascar doing church planting work and getting the house and papers in order to be gone for a month or two.  With all of this we have had our ups and downs.  We have had our tears and we have had those moments of joy that can only come by the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.  We have truly learned that the love that the Lord has given us for each other has no boundaries and no ocean or land-mass can keep us from showing, sharing, and living out that love for Christ first and then for each other.

With all of the changes that have taken place we have seen the Lord do some amazing things.  First of all we praise Him for giving everyone safe travel thus far.  Everyone has made it to their destinations and as of yesterday Phoebe is with Suzie, Emma, and Baylee.  Adam had a safe trip out to Androy land.  The Lord is doing great things despite our short-comings.  We have seen the Lord begin to open doors in several towns and surrounding villages to those towns.  We have seen the Lord begin to bring alongside us national partners who desire to live out Christ, learn about Him, and share His Word with others.  We still have a lot of training trainers to do and there are still so many people who are waiting to hear the Gospel story.  With that said the Lord who is gracious and does things in his timing has blessed us with the privilege of having a baby boy who we pray will grow into a Godly man.  We are so thankful to the Lord for this opportunity that we never imagined possible until we found out Suzie was pregnant eight months ago now.  Wow the Lord is so good!  Although we are scared and wonder sometimes how life will be with a little baby again we just can't help but give thanks for this new life.  We also praise the Lord for our wonderful daughters who have been so supportive and have displayed love in all these changes.

Finally, we want to say thank you to you all.  The love that you all show us doesn't go unnoticed.  You have been so kind to us.  We thank you for your prayers, encouraging words, emails, notes, packages, gifts, and giving to missions to allow us to do what the Lord has called us to do here in Madagascar.  A simple thank you is not enough but we know that you guys give because the Lord has blessed you and you love us.  Thus, we say Thank you so much for everything!!!  Keep up the good work.

It's Time to Come Home

The Lord has prepared us and led us to make a significant change.  We're coming back to the USA!  Many things have helped us make this decision, but ultimately, the Lord is leading us, and we are just continuing to be faithful to Him. We haven't changed.  Our hearts remain steadfast.  The passion and desire for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done continue to grow within us.  However, we will now live this out on the front lines of the USA in Texas. We are excited to announce Adam will be the senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Valley Mills, Texas.  He will be officially starting at the end of June.  Suzie should be teaching at the elementary school in Valley Mills.  Baylee and River will finish the school year in Nairobi as we pack up the house and say our goodbyes well.  Baylee graduates high school on May 25th.  We will return to the USA in the first part of June to take a little time to decompress before beginning ministry in Valley Mills. Walking By Faith...through a Never-ending Storm

This past month has been difficult for us as a family.  Actually, this whole year has been tough. We have a need to heal physically but emotionally we just don't feel strong due to not being able to do all the required/wanted activities physically.  We are responsible for so much and we feel as if we are giving our all but it just isn't enough.  However, in our physical and emotional weakness the Lord is faithful. All this to say, what keeps us going is serving the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord's. Being actively involved in God's Kingdom work is where we find ourselves being strengthened and reminded that He is strong and Mighty no matter how we feel. Thus, when things break down, when we find ourselves weak physically, when we feel all alone and abandoned, He is there! The Lord is shining His grace and mercy on so many here in Nairobi and around all of Africa.  He has allowed us by His grace to be a part of it.  He is good and so today be encouraged that He can do

Short but Packed

February is a short month but we packed it full! (No surprise!!) Baylee kicked off the month in Olepolos, a village south of Nairobi, where she served a church and its community alongside some classmates. She was able to share the gospel, serve in the church, work on the church and love on the children and students in the village. Adam & Suzie got to tour Istanbul on a long layover headed to Athens where they spent time with others leading the strategy for their cities in other parts of the world. It was incredible to visit places with such rich histories and ancient landmarks, both in Istanbul and Athens. God is on the move around the world. He's the same yesterday, today and forever, which is mind-blowing, especially when your standing in front of an olympic stadium that was built in 330BC, and that's still not as old as creation.
