Keeping Up...He is Faithful

We have not been as consistent in sending our monthly updates as you may have noticed.  Please forgive us.  We desire to keep you updated and prepared to pray for us monthly.

Over the past couple of months....
We have prepared for and led our first in-person conference as First Term trainers.  After COVID, we had to take the training of first termers to a virtual platform.  It worked but was not as effective as in-person training.  Although an in-person training seems to have taken more time to prepare and execute, we're happy to say it went well.  Everybody, both participators and leaders, got so much out of it.  We had about 115 people total, including 32 children/youth and two churches that send 13 volunteers to work with those children/youth.  We focused on the SSA M-task Framework, a missionary framework that guided our people and expressed the seamless transition of the six components.  These six components include entry, evangelism, discipleship, healthy church formation, leadership development and exit to partnership.  We also had other sessions to discuss language and culture learning, time management, security, support available to our people, and more!

We've continued to pour into our new personnel that just wrapped up 7 weeks of training in Virginia.  We made virtual calls during Affinity-specific sessions and had a more in-depth time last week.  They were commissioned to their various fields of service around SSA.

In local ministry, Suzie led worship during VBS at our local church, Ruaraka Baptist, and continues serving in Sunday school as much as possible.  Adam had the opportunity to preach in a few churches as we continue to visit and build relationships with leaders around Nairobi.  We hosted two short term teams.  Summit, from N. Carolina, engaged many people through broad gospel seed sowing in a few neighborhoods.  Then they roasted a hog and had a men's fellowship where three men surrendered their lives to Christ.  We kept them busy!  The second team came to serve after the conference and sought to saturate the town of Juja with the gospel.  This is the location of a new church that is being planted.  Our brother in Christ was commissioned by Ruaraka Baptist to begin this church plant.  Pray that this plant will continue to gain traction.

Many trainings are still taking place around Nairobi.  A highlight of one, held for the youth at Community Baptist, resulted in 155 people in the Kayole area hearing the gospel and over 30 responding with a desire to surrender their lives to Christ.  This all happened in 30 minutes of sharing, after 3 hours of training.  Praise God!

Thank you for committing us to prayer.  We've been busy and there have been some tough days, but your prayers and support encourage us along as we seek to be found faithful.

Praises:
-  Many heard the gospel and responded over the past 2 months.
- The in-person Grow conference was a success and everyone enjoyed much needed fellowship!
- God is continuing to call workers to service in the harvest. (Luke 10:2 - pray with us everyday at 10:02 for the Lord to send more workers.)
- Plans for the church plant in Juja are continuing to develop and gain traction.
- Baylee and River finished another year of school.  Onto Senior year and 3rd grade in August!!

Prayer Requests:
- More teams scheduled to come and trainings that will take place in the upcoming months.
- New units coming to the field to arrive and transition smoothly.
- Our family to find a good rhythm while the kids are out of school.
- Wisdom over our leadership in SSA as a new Affinity Trainer is named.  (This person will be our direct supervisor.)

As I scrolled through pictures of the last two months, I found a ton I want to share.  Some of these you may have seen on FB, but I'm including some extras this month because so much has happened!!
